Why did we choose the name Hong Kong for one of our Tante Emma-Apartments and thus make reference to one of the most beautiful Chinese capitals? Maybe because Hong Kong itself is a unique sight or because the skyline of Victoria Peak on Hong Kong is so gigantic? At SRTI we know that Hong Kong is breathtaking and we want to take you into a colourful world that is extraordinary, sensational and diverse.
Let yourself be carried away by the Chinese movement form for the cultivation of body and mind and experience, for example, that nowhere else in the world is there such a sensational high-rise forest where tradition and modernity collide as there is here. Hongkong has more than 3,500 buildings of more than 90 m height and is therefore the world’s leading city.
Paderborn, of course, cannot come anywhere near to matching Hongkong and we don’t even want to try. Nevertheless, there is a connection that should not remain unmentioned. A Chinese symbol, probably originating from Hongkong, was introduced to Europe along the Silk Road via the Middle East in the 12th century and finally got into the hands of a stonemason by chance at the beginning of the 16th century. He took that symbol as inspiration and created the famous „Three Hares Window“, which was incorporated into the late Gothic cloister of Paderborn Cathedral a little later.
