At least California’s Tante Emma did what she could and spread tiny pieces of San Francisco in the Tante Emma apartment „San Francisco“ on 28 m². 

The heraldic animal of San Francisco is the phoenix. You know the story of the phoenix that rises from the ashes and is thus reborn. It is possible that here in Paderborn, you will be carried away by the phoenix into the Californian metropolis, the cosmopolitan city of San Francisco and the improbable, through unusual events, because everything is possible. In the Tante Emma-Apartment you can dream and relax, because fantasy is known to be boundless.

By the way, Paderborn does not have a phoenix as heraldic animal, but we do have the Three-Hares-Window (Drei-Hasen-Fenster) which is famous as Paderborn’s landmark. „The hare and the spoon three, and yet every hare has two,“ is the verse that succinctly describes the Three-Hares-Window in the late Gothic cloister of Paderborn Cathedral. Since the Middle Ages, the hares then entered into Christian number mysticism by illustrating the unity of God in the Trinity. Another thing: Francis of Assis was not only the godfather of the name San Francisco, – he also left his mark in Paderborn and should it rain in NRW, because it never rains in California,-don’t worry-, there are umbrellas for sale on every corner.
